OpenTTD - Tasmania
A precise 2048 x 2048 map of Tasmania for OpenTTD - SRTM-modelled elevation from the Central Plateau and Mt Ossa to Mt Wellington and the islands, 38 towns at exact coordinates, the four main highways, and the island's true mining, forestry, farming and hydro economy. Download the files, or play it right here in your browser.
Downloads
Everything you need, ready to grab. The heightmap and data manifest are direct downloads; the scenario binary is exported from the real engine so it always loads.
Build the definitive scenario in the real engine and export a valid .scn, then drop it in your scenario/ folder.
SRTM-modelled grayscale elevation. Load it via OpenTTD's native heightmap importer to generate the island instantly.
Download Heightmap (PNG)Every town, industry, airport and highway waypoint with its exact 2048-grid tile vector. 38 towns, 30 industries.
Download Data Manifest (JSON)The heightmap and manifest are static, direct downloads. The scenario is exported from the real engine because a hand-written .scn would be locked to one build and can't be guaranteed to load - this way yours always does. The manifest carries all 74 placements plus 4 highway routes for fine-tuning.
Desktop installation guide
From file to playing in four steps. OpenTTD reads scenarios straight from its scenario folder - no mods or extra setup.
Get the scenario file
Export Tasmania.scn from the scenario builder above (it runs the real OpenTTD engine), or load the heightmap in desktop OpenTTD's Scenario Editor and Export Scenario.
Find your scenario folder
Open your OpenTTD content folder and go into the scenario directory. It's created the first time you run the game.
Drop in Tasmania.scn
Copy Tasmania.scn into that scenario/ folder. No extracting, no extra files - one .scn is all OpenTTD needs.
Play Scenario
Launch OpenTTD, choose New Game → Play Scenario, pick Tasmania, and start building. Temperate climate, 2048 x 2048, year 1950.

The full OpenTTD 15.3 engine, compiled to WebAssembly, with open-source OpenGFX graphics. Import the Tasmania heightmap from the in-game toolbar and start building.
A hyper-accurate island
The heightmap traces Tasmania's real coastline and elevation - black is sea, brighter is higher ground - including King Island, Flinders, Bruny and a sharp Mt Wellington. Every place sits at its true relative position.

Every marker sits at its real coordinate on the same 2048 x 2048 grid the game loads. Dots are towns (sized by population), the orange lines are the pre-laid highways, triangles are airports, and squares are industries. Toggle any layer to read the network.
